A man charged with murder in downtown Elkhart again refused to appear in court.

20-year-old Christopher Yotter is accused in the April 5 killing of Douglas Morgan.

Police say Morgan was found unconscious and covered in blood early April 6 in a parking lot in the 400 block of South Main Street and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say surveillance video and witness accounts place Yotter near the area around the time of the attack, and police say he later admitted killing someone near the Lerner Theatre.

The Goshen News says Yotter refused to attend a scheduled competency hearing, which has now been reset for April 8.
