Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this year in South Bend.

Tyree Bonds, 32, is charged with aiding, inducing, or causing murder in the death of 48-year-old Jiffery “Rell D” Jones.

The shooting occurred January 25 on North Brookfield Street. Despite lifesaving efforts, Jones died at the scene.

Family members described him as a positive presence in the community during a vigil held shortly after his death.
