The South Bend Cubs postponed games for a third straight day Sunday because the field at Four Winds Field wasn’t playable.

A doubleheader against the Quad Cities River Bandits was planned for the afternoon, but was called off after delays while officials checked the field conditions.

Friday’s opener was also postponed shortly before game time, and Saturday’s game was canceled after crews spent hours trying to fix the infield.

The Cubs will now start their season on the road Tuesday night against the Peoria Chiefs at 7:35 p.m. Eastern. After six games there, they’re set to return home for a series against the Beloit Sky Carp.

Sunday’s postponed games will be rescheduled as part of a future doubleheader.
