Indiana residents have less than a week to register to vote in the upcoming May 5 primary election.
Voters can register or update their information online through IndianaVoters.com until 11:59 p.m. Monday, April 6. In-person registration is also available at county election offices during business hours.
Early voting begins Tuesday, April 7, and runs through the day before the election.
As of March 30, more than 4.7 million Hoosiers are registered to vote.
This year’s primary will determine party nominees for several major races, including all nine congressional seats, 25 state Senate seats, all 100 Indiana House seats, and numerous local offices.
While primary elections typically see lower turnout, they often play a major role in deciding the eventual winners in heavily partisan districts.
