Indiana’s housing market heated up in March, according to the Indiana Association of REALTORS.

Closed home sales jumped 27 percent from February while pending sales climbed 30 percent, both slightly ahead of last year’s pace.

The median sale price rose four percent year-over-year to $270,000, with sellers getting about 95.5 percent of asking price. Homes also sold faster, going under contract in 19 days.

Listings surged 41 percent from February, giving buyers more options, while improved mortgage rates helped keep monthly payments steady despite higher prices. SOQ
