A LaPorte woman has been sentenced to six years in federal prison on drug charges.
Monica Del Real, 26, was sentenced after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Court documents say officers stopped Del Real’s vehicle after discovering she had active warrants. A K-9 alerted to the vehicle, and a search uncovered 136 grams of methamphetamine and 12 grams of fentanyl hidden near the gas pedal.
Del Real will also serve three years of supervised release following her prison term.
