State Representative Gregory Porter is calling on Governor Mike Braun to suspend Indiana’s 36-cent gasoline excise tax to provide more relief at the pump.
While the Governor recently paused the state’s gas sales tax, Porter argues a double suspension would save drivers over 50 cents per gallon.
Despite claims that legislative action is required, Porter cites a new state analysis suggesting the Governor has the authority to act alone.
Representative Porter says with rising toll revenue, the state can easily afford the additional tax break for Hoosiers.
