Former Mishawaka motel looked at for potential housing development

A former motel on East McKinley Avenue in Mishawaka could become a multifamily housing development if it gets final approval from the city council.
City leaders reviewed early plans and shared feedback during a public hearing on Monday night.
The project would bring new apartments to a property that has been vacant since a fire damaged the former Pangford Motel last year.
The property owner initially planned to repair the motel but later shifted to redevelopment.
Plans now call for tearing down the damaged motel and nearby homes, which were also acquired, and replacing them with about 25 apartments.

The trailer park is getting closed down, so apparently we need to add some apartments to keep the crime rate up in that area. Brilliant.
