The Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds has announced a major campus expansion project aimed at improving facilities, growing youth programs and increasing tourism opportunities.
As part of the project, First State Bank pledged $75,000 over the next three years.
Plans include construction of the new Forest River and Peter J. Liegl Ag & Community Expo building, a 47,500-square-foot multi-purpose facility that will house the swine club during the annual fair. Other upgrades include a Health and Wellness Center, expanded campground space and improvements to livestock barns.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for Sept. 11, with the project expected to be completed by summer 2027.
