LaPorte County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Samuelson has been transferred from Memorial Hospital to another facility as he continues recovering from injuries suffered in a hospital shooting.

Samuelson was moved on Thursday, June 4, with a police escort. Investigators have said the shooting may have left him paralyzed from the chest down.

According to family members, Samuelson recently began physical and occupational therapy as part of his recovery. They say he is now awaiting approval to begin an intensive rehabilitation program and is eager to take the next step in his recovery journey.
