Two teenagers have been arrested following a shooting Wednesday afternoon in St. Joseph County that left a 15-year-old injured.
Officers responded to the 24000 block of Edison Road and found a 15-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that police said were not considered life-threatening.
According to investigators, the injured teen has been preliminarily charged with possession of a machine gun, criminal recklessness and unlawful possession.
A 16-year-old who was also at the scene has been preliminarily charged with possession of a machine gun and unlawful possession.
Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
