(95.3 MNC)
A Dowagiac man was injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck early Monday morning in Calvin Township.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the scene shortly after 4 a.m. on Calvin Center Road near Mount Zion Street.
Investigators determined that a 53-year-old man was traveling south when his vehicle struck a tree that had fallen across the roadway. Moments later, a northbound semi driven by a 60-year-old Colorado man also hit the tree.
Authorities said Hale lost control of the semi after impact, and the trailer collided with Hutchings’ vehicle.
Hutchings was taken to Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in Niles for treatment of injuries. Hale was not reported injured.
