Construction is underway on a series of improvements at O’Brien Park in South Bend.
City officials announced work has begun on a new splash pad, upgraded playground equipment and outdoor restroom facilities. The project also includes construction of a sidewalk along the north side of Walter Street between Fellows and Michigan streets.
The city said the O’Brien Skate Park will remain open throughout construction and will not be affected by the work.
Weather permitting, the improvements are expected to be completed by mid-August.
City leaders say the upgrades are designed to enhance recreational opportunities and improve accessibility for neighborhood residents.
