An Elkhart man accused in the death of a 20-month-old child will face a delayed jury trial. 

Miguel Garcia’s trial has been moved from November 2 to November 16 because of the general election.

The Goshen News says Garcia is charged in connection with the December 2024 death of a toddler who suffered severe head injuries. Investigators say medical evidence contradicted claims the child was hurt in an accidental fall days earlier.

Court documents indicate an autopsy later confirmed the child died from the injuries.
