Senator Banks’ RESIDE Act Passes Senate

Legislation from Indiana Senator Jim Banks aimed at turning abandoned buildings into housing has passed the U.S. Senate.
The RESIDE Act creates a new pilot program to help local communities transform vacant structures, like old factories and strip malls, into affordable homes for families.
Senator Banks says the bipartisan bill offers a common-sense solution to expand the housing supply without creating a new federal spending program.
The measure has already gained widespread support from mayors across Indiana.
