Northern Indiana nonprofits and first responders can now apply for grant funding to support public safety education and training.
NIPSCO is accepting applications for its annual Public Safety Education and Training Grant program through July 31.
Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 are available to help fund projects such as youth safety programs, CPR classes, fire and carbon monoxide education, first responder training, and efforts to prevent damage to underground natural gas lines.
The program is now in its ninth year and has helped fund more than 130 safety initiatives across northern Indiana since it began.
Last year’s local recipients included the Elkhart Fire Department, Elkhart County Emergency Management Agency, and the LaGrange Fire Department.
Organizations interested in applying can find more information and submit an application at NIPSCO dot com slash Safety Grant.
