A new report ranks Indiana among the top states for sports lovers in 2026. 

Nonprofit organization SmileHub compared all 50 states using factors including sports jobs, charities, scholarships, clubs and professional teams.

Indiana ranked seventh overall, scoring well for sports scholarships and sports-related opportunities.

The report comes as the FIFA World Cup continues, with the championship match less than two weeks away. SmileHub says the rankings highlight how states support athletes, fans and the broader sports community.
