Woman injured in train vs car crash in Elkhart

A woman was taken to the hospital after the car she was riding in was hit by a train on Saturday evening, July 18.

Elkhart police responded to the crossing at East Lusher Avenue and South Main Street after a Buick LaCrosse was struck.

Police say the car may have gone around or under the crossing gates before the train hit the back of the vehicle.

The driver left the scene on foot before officers arrived.

I never heard of a car wining a crash with a train.
Obviously they don’t teach this in school.
