If downtown Niles seems a little darker than usual, there’s a reason.

Mayor Nick Shelton says the city is aware that several downtown lamp posts are out and repairs are expected within the next few weeks.

The work will likely require a planned power outage, and downtown business owners will receive advance notice before that happens.
