South Bend leaders are considering new rules for short-term rental properties.
Common Council members held a public meeting to discuss proposed regulations, which could require property owners to obtain permits each year and provide contact information to the city.
Council President Canneth Lee says the proposal is being developed in response to concerns and feedback from residents.
No decisions were made during the meeting, and there was no public comment.
Lee says council members expect to spend the next several weeks gathering more information before determining how new regulations could affect short-term rental owners and neighborhoods.
