A mini-bike rider has died following a crash with an SUV in St. Joseph County.

Police were called to Leeper and Walnut Roads around 5:50 Wednesday evening. Investigators say both vehicles were traveling south on Walnut Road when they collided near the intersection.

The mini-bike rider was taken to Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is investigating factors that led to the collision.
