St. Joseph County Police are reminding residents that golf carts are not allowed on public roads or sidewalks in the county.
The warning follows an Aug. 24 crash near Adams and Gumwood Roads involving a golf cart driven by a 12-year-old and a 10-year-old bicyclist.
Police say the bicycle rider went through the golf cart’s windshield, but suffered only minor injuries.
Neither child in the golf cart was hurt.
Police say officers will continue stopping and educating people who violate the rules.
