Indiana housing market numbers decline

Indiana’s housing market cooled in August as higher mortgage rates slowed homebuying activity.

Pending sales fell four percent from a year ago, while closed sales dropped five percent to 7,803.

The median home price rose three percent to $282,000.

More homes are available, with inventory up 13 percent, giving buyers more options.

Homes also took 24 days to go under contract, three days longer than last year.
