A man’s jury trial will remain set for November 16, regardless of whether he hires a new attorney. 

Miguel Garcia is accused in the 2024 death of a 20-month-old child.

Prosecutors say medical evidence indicated the child’s injuries were unlikely caused by a fall.

According to The Goshen News, Garcia’s attorney says he is still seeking private counsel. The state awaits a report related to the cause of death.

An October 8 status conference remains scheduled.
