Juday Creek Golf Course will break ground Tuesday on a new clubhouse, more than two years after fire destroyed the original building.

The ceremony is set for 4 p.m. Sept. 22, followed by a public celebration under a tent.

The clubhouse was destroyed in an Aug. 26, 2024, fire. Course owners say rebuilding was delayed by permitting, infrastructure and building requirements, as well as rising construction costs.

The new building, designed by Matt Freeman of Spalding Design Group, will resemble the former clubhouse and include gathering space and a deck overlooking the course. Plans no longer include the previous banquet space because of construction costs and limited insurance proceeds.

Nugent Builders will handle construction. The company is owned by the Rogers family, which has operated Juday Creek for decades.

Juday Creek remained open for golfers, leagues, outings and junior programs after the fire, closing only one day while staff operated from a temporary solar-powered golf shop.

Owner Linda Rogers said the groundbreaking will be an emotional milestone for the family after a long and complicated rebuilding process.
