It’s been three weeks since a fire destroyed much of the Stadium Flats apartment construction site.

The South Bend Fire Department says the investigation is complete enough to release the site back to the property owner for cleanup.

There are no new updates on what caused the fire. Owner Mike Surak says crews are now assessing the damage and what can be saved.

He says it’s too early to know how much the damage will cost or how long rebuilding will take.

Surak says the project may not be a total loss.
