A judge has ruled information about a slain man may be excluded from the trial of Michael Hawkins Junior.

The Goshen News says Hawkins is accused of killing 50-year-old Anthony Null along the St. Joseph River in July.

Prosecutors say Null’s gang affiliation was discovered during his autopsy, but both sides agree it is not connected to the case.

Hawkins’ trial is set for October 19.
