NIPSCO is reminding customers that financial help is available as colder weather approaches.
The utility’s temporary pause on residential electric disconnections for nonpayment ended September 30th.
NIPSCO says eligible customers struggling with their natural gas bills can now apply for several assistance programs.
Depending on the program, qualifying households could receive up to 500 dollars a year toward their NIPSCO gas bills.
Applications will be accepted through May 31st of next year, or until available funding runs out.
NIPSCO is encouraging customers who may qualify to apply early.
