Political signs are disappearing from some yards as election season heats up in St. Joseph County.
Videos posted on social media have shown campaign signs being pulled from the ground. Taking a sign without permission could result in criminal charges, including theft or trespassing.
Leaders of both the St. Joseph County Republican and Democratic parties say sign theft is a problem during most election seasons, but neither has seen an unusual increase in complaints this year.
WSBT reports party officials are also reminding campaigns to get permission from property owners before putting up signs.
