Plymouth council delays vote on yard parking restrictions

A proposal to fine Plymouth residents for parking vehicles on their lawns is on hold.
The Plymouth City Council voted six-to-one to delay action on an ordinance that would restrict parking on residential grass and yards.
The proposal calls for fines for vehicle owners, with additional penalties possible for property owners.
Supporters say the restrictions would improve neighborhood appearances. Opponents argue homeowners should have more freedom to use their property.
Mayor Robert Listenberger says the ordinance needs more work.
There’s no word on when the council might reconsider it.
