The trial of a woman accused of making a false child protective services report involving a St. Joseph County councilwoman has been postponed.
Court records show Gloria Niedbalski is now scheduled to go to trial January 19th, 2027. The trial had been set to begin today.
Niedbalski is charged with false informing and identity deception. Prosecutors allege she made a false report about Councilwoman Amy Drake, leading to a police response at Drake’s home on December 9th of last year.
The response came the same night Drake voted against Niedbalski’s reappointment to the county Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals.
Niedbalski resigned from her county position after the charges were filed. She has pleaded not guilty.
