Michigan suspends diesel restrictions for farmers

(95.3 MNC)
Michigan is giving farmers and logging operations temporary relief from high diesel prices.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared an energy emergency, allowing certain agricultural and forestry vehicles to use dyed diesel fuel on state highways.
The move follows similar action by Indiana Governor Mike Braun.
However, GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan says the change is unlikely to make a significant difference in overall fuel costs.
Farmers say record-high diesel prices continue to put pressure on their operations.
The temporary relief in both states is intended to help through the fall harvest and expires no later than December 31st.
