A man convicted of murder who escaped a prison in Tennessee may possibly be in Indiana, and state police want you to be aware.
Sgt. Kevin Getz, with Indiana State Police, did not say whether they had any specific info leading them to believe he is in the state, but said that Jacob Allen Morley, 28, has been on the run for more than a week and the 2008 Ford F-150, which authorities believe he stole, was found in Marion, Illinois, last Tuesday.
“If you look at the timeline when he made his escape last week, he could be anywhere within this Midwest, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois region,” said Getz.
Four days ago authorities were investigating whether a bank robbery in Wisconsin may have had anything to do with Morley’s escape. But, ultimately he was not located.
“We just want people to be aware, as he has not been located,” said Getz.
He said that’s why ISP put out an advisory about the man Monday. Morley, who was convicted in 2022 of the murder of a man named Cody Burchfield, is, as most killers would be, considered armed and dangerous.
Morley is white, 5 ft. 11, and 240 lbs.
“If he happens to be observed, just continue to do what you’re doing, don’t approach him. Pick up the phone and make that call, and provide any physical information as far as description, vehicle description, any of that,” he said.
Indiana State Police can be reached at 800-453-4756.
