Carbon monoxide detected in Berrien Springs home where woman, dog were found dead

An elderly woman and her dog were found dead in a home in Berrien Springs, Mich.

Emergency crews were called to the home in the 4900 block of Appian Way around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

When Hazmat team members entered the home, they detected high levels on carbon monoxide, ABC 57 reported.

The Berrien County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death.

Crews are still investigating the cause of the leak.
