Armed man who set off Ball State lockdown barred from campus

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — An armed man who prompted a lockdown at Ball State University has been questioned, released and barred from campus.

WISH-TV reports that the 20-year-old man with a carry permit had a holstered gun when someone reported him to police Thursday.

The report prompted evacuations and a two-hour search of campus.

The school has a no-weapons policy.

A male juvenile accompanying the man was not armed.

Both were questioned by police Friday and were released. They were barred from campus, but no charges were filed.

They are not students at Ball State.
