ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (AP) — Foreclosed lots in Berrien County are slated to go up for auction this month.

The Herald-Palladium of St. Joseph reports Tuesday that properties that failed to sell at auction in July still are available for the amount of taxes owed on them and 10 percent of that amount through Sept. 13.

The remaining parcels then will be sold at a Sept. 20 auction.

July’s auction attracted 165 registered bidders and resulted in 94 properties sold. The $1.1 million in sales goes into the county’s foreclosure fund. The fund helps pay to demolish abandoned structures.

A minimum bid of $50 will be set on each property in the upcoming auction and bidders must submit a $250 registration fee.
