A car slid under the rear of a tractor-trailer that had been stopped off the roadway of I-94 Saturday morning, killing the two people in the car.

The semi had been stopped because another vehicle hit it while heading westbound at around 10 a.m. Saturday near New Buffalo, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.

A second westbound vehicle lost control and slid into and underneath the tractor-trailer. The driver and passenger, both two 20-year-old men from Illinois, were killed.

The woman in the first vehicle was taken to a Michigan City hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the semi wasn’t hurt.

No names have been released. The crash is still under investigation.
