A woman who’s part of a trio accused of committing armed robbery on senior citizens will see a third mental health evaluator since her case started.

That’s because the first two evaluators couldn’t agree on if Amanda Wrye, 30, was competent to assist her attorney in her defense, according to the Elkhart Truth.

Wrye actually didn’t want the third evaluation, arguing with retiring Elkhart Circuit Court Judge Terry Shewmaker that she needs “a plea bargain so I can do my time and go home to my 7-year-old son.” Shewmaker responded that a plea bargain could be more likely depending on the results of a third exam, according to the Elkhart Truth.

Wrye is charged with multiple counts of robbery resulting in injury and criminal confinement. Wrye and two others, 35-year-old Jonie Lee McMahan and 45-year-old Jamie Lee Hancock, are accused of forcing their way into two homes, then restraining the elderly residents inside and robbing them.

McMahan is charged with armed robbery with serious bodily injury and criminal confinement. Hancock is charged with armed robbery and criminal confinement. Both are scheduled for separate trials on Feb. 6.
