Salvation Army’s red kettle donation drive running behind in South Bend

If you drop change in the Salvation Army buckets while you’re out shopping, that’s great. But you if you want to really help them, you might want to consider tucking in a little folding money.

That’s because The Salvation Army says they’re running low on donations, according to WNDU.

The bell ringers have another two weeks to raise funds before Christmas Eve, and St. Joe County donations are only at about 40-percent so far.

The donations help fund their programs in the new year. The Salvation Army says unseasonably warm temperatures likely led to fewer donations.

The goal this year is $159,000. Major Angela Wandling of the Salvation Army Kroc Center said she’s confident that they will reach it.
