The Potawatomi Zoo is celebrating the birth of a critically endangered Amur leopard cub.
The male cub was born September 8 to first-time mother Anastasia and father Mango.
After the mother struggled to provide adequate care, zoo staff began hand-rearing the cub around the clock.
Officials say he’s growing healthy and strong. The zoo is also building a new habitat to support future breeding efforts and help protect the endangered species.
