South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg made an impression with his performance in Wednesday’s national DNC Chair Debate at George Washington University.
In an article from The New Republic, it said Buttigieg was impressive and set himself apart from the other candidates that trail the two perceived front runners, Congressman Keith Ellison and Labor Secretary Tom Perez.
Among the mayor’s comments during the evening was his take on the belief that we’re living in a fact-free world now, saying “The great thing about the local level is you don’t get to do that. Either the pothole got filled or it didn’t. It’s not like proving I wasn’t born in Kenya.”
The piece said Buttigieg, more than any other candidate, connected the threats from the Trump administration to the real consequences faced by ordinary Americans.
