Nappanee exploring RV park to boost local tourism

Nappanee is exploring the possibility of building an RV park to attract vacation travelers. The burning question is…where do you put it?

Nappanee Mayor Phil Jenkins told the Elkhart Truth that the idea has been floated before without gaining traction.

The Board of Works is looking into a study of how feasible the idea is for the town. Two sites have been discussed, one involving a 9-hole golf course, the other adjacent to a small business district.

Supporters of the idea point to the number of RV Service businesses in the town and the potential for boosting local tourism.

Mayor Jenkins hopes to have the results of the study sometime this fall.
