The perimeter wall of Elkhart’s Ruthmere Museum is getting a $34,000 facelift.

Anyone who travels East Beardsley Ave. on a regular basis knows the wall, and extensive masonry restoration work will be done on the wall, including fixing areas damaged by tree roots, moss, and more, according to the Elkhart Truth.

The iron gates have already been removed from the wall, in front of the century-old facility. The work is expected to take up to five months to complete.

The decision to do the work was made a few years ago, but other projects were more pressing.

Public donations are being accepted to help defray the cost.
