Lake Michigan College has selected its new President.

On Friday, the Board of Trustees at the school selected Dr. Trevor Kubatzke, and have begun contract negotiations to bring him in as soon as April, according to the Harold-Palladium.

Kubatzke succeeds President Emeritus Robert P. Harrison, who is retiring after nearly 18 years working for the college.

Kubatzke has more than two decades of leadership experience in higher education, starting at Upper Iowa University in 1995, followed by several leadership positions at Delta College, Lincoln Land Community College,  and most recently at Milwaukee Area Technical College.

He is also a former West Union, Iowa police officer.
