Search for suspects underway after elderly man was robbed in his own home

Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department officers are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who had entered into a home and robbed an elderly man.

The robbery happened just before 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, when the suspects arrived at a home in the 1700 block of County Road 22 in Goshen, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

After entering into the home through an unlocked door, suspects confronted the 71-year-old man in his dining room and demanded money from him while displaying knives, the sheriff’s department reported.

After obtaining the man’s wallet, the suspects left the area on foot headed into a northeast direction.

The suspects were described as slender Hispanic males who were wearing dark clothing, ski masks, and gloves, the sheriff’s department reported.
