A drunk driver allegedly made a run for it in Elkhart County Saturday afternoon, and turned out to be way over the legal limit.

46-year-old Timothy Kyser was reported by a witness whose vehicle he had backed into with his truck, according to ABC 57.

Kyser took off during a traffic stop a short time later and was picked up after crashing into a tree on C.R. 46 east of C.R. 7.

He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital due to a high blood alcohol content of 0.323, more than four times the legal limit.
