A major employer in Elkhart has acquired another Elkhart-based company.

Patrick Industries has purchased Medallion Plastics Inc. this week, according to the Elkhart Truth.

“Medallion’s high quality product lines, vast product engineering capabilities, technical expertise, and custom molds and tooling provide us with the opportunity to continue to drive our business model through expansion into other industrial markets, as well as further increase our RV content per unit,” said Andy Nemeth, president of Patrick in a press release.

The purchase price was about $10 million for the company, which makes custom thermoformed products and components for numerous industries, including the RV market.

Medallion will continue to operate at a stand-alone brand at its four existing facilities. No word on if any jobs will be created or lost as a result.
