South Bend man killed in overnight shooting

A South Bend man was killed in a shooting early Tuesday morning on the city’s west side.

The victim died on the front lawn of a home in the 5100 block of Windfall Court, just a handful of blocks from Washington High School. He’s been identified by South Bend Police as 21 year-old Darnell Warfield, according to ABC 57.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide detectives have begun their investigation but have yet to release any information about the possible identity of the shooter. A possible witness was interviewed Tuesday morning.
