Charges filed against husband of South Bend woman found stabbed to death

The husband of a South Bend woman who was stabbed to death over the weekend has been charged with murder.

46-year-old Carl Gathright was arrested after his wife, 44-year-old Argusta Gathright, was stabbed to death at their home ib the 4400 block of Ashard Drive on the city’s northwest side, around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 23. Gathright will be arraigned Wednesday, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

On arrival, police found Argusta Gathright injured in the front yard of a home. She was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

The stabbing is believed to have stemmed from a domestic dispute. As many as three children were at the home at the time on the stabbing.
