Four motorcycles were involved in a pile-up east of Bristol Saturday night.

The crash happened a little before 6:45 p.m. on S.R. 120 west of Eby Road. The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department says a biker heading eastbound tried to pass another motorcycle, crossed the center line, and collided with a westbound motorcycle. Their crash caused two more riders to crash, unable to avoid the initial collision and laying their bikes on the roadway.

The two riders and a passenger in the first collision had to be flown to Memorial Hospital. One driver suffered severe head and internal injuries. The other rider suffered head and leg injuries, and a passenger on that bike had minor injuries. The two riders who couldn’t avoid the initial collision were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
